There are two main axes in the TB-Speed research project: 1) Decentralization of the diagnosis of tuberculosis and 2) Early diagnosis of tuberculosis in vulnerable children.
In this context, our Institute is organizing a training program on the conduction of the early detection of tuberculosis in children aged 2 months up to 5 years, with severe pneumonia, from the 12th to the 15th of February, for nurses and doctors from the National Paediatric Hospital (Phnom Penh), the Kampong Cham Provincial Hospital and the Takeo Referral Hospital.
Dr MAO Tan Eang (Director of the National Center for Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control) and Didier FONTENILLE (Director of Institut Pasteur du Cambodge) chaired the opening training sessions on the 12th.
A second round of training will be held at the end of February in our Institute for other clinicians and nurses.
